About SnowDay Predictor

SnowDay Predictor is a free, independent tool that estimates the odds of a school snow day or 2-hour delay for any US town — and shows the weather factors behind the number, so the result is something you can actually reason about.

It was built on a simple idea: a snow-day prediction shouldn't be a black box. Everything runs in your browser on a live Open-Meteo forecast, scored by a transparent model you can read in full on the methodology page. No account, no app, no API key.

What it isn't

We're not affiliated with any school district and we're not an official closing list. The number is a fun, well-informed estimate — a fast second opinion the night before a storm. Always confirm with your district.
